Barbershop Short: Racism and Entertainment Part III

I focus on racism in sports on this episode. If you think that racism isn’t in sports because of the amount of money a very few of the top athletes make, ask LeBron James.

Like millions of children in this country I played sport growing up: football, basketball, and track and field. Thank God my parents did not make me ever feel that sports was my “only way out.” Too many of our children feel that sports is all they can do, as if it’s the “only way out.” Even when a Black athlete makes it to the professional leagues, they realize there is no escaping the racist system oppressing all Black people.
