Opinion: Blacks And Social Media

You live in a racist system. This system is global, meaning that you can not escape it friend. The only racists on this planet are whites; everyone else just responds. This is the perspective from which I write. Thank you.

Black people, like all other groups, have taken to social media. It is an essential way in which we communicate.

Like other groups, we use social media to socially connect with others, but what are some of the things we are socially connecting over: news, music, gossip, celebrity, conspiracy, activism? We are barely connecting over, if at all, efforts to form effective, political blocs.

What is an effective political bloc? It is a group of people that are relatively effective in setting and accomplishing political goals. We have not been effective in setting and accomplishing political goals, we have only been effective in garnering fake sympathy.

Use social media to connect with like-minded Black people in your city/town, and learn who the officials are and their various positions. Then set achievable, political goals, and work to ensure that they are achieved.
